Education
Dr. Bullock has undergraduate degrees in both physics (B.Sc., University of Waterloo) and education (B.Ed., Queen’s University), graduate degrees in both education (M.Ed., Queen’s University) and the history and philosophy of science and technology (M.A., University of Toronto), and a Ph.D. in education (Queen’s University). Research Program
Dr. Bullock’s work uses the lenses afforded the history and philosophy of science and technology to examine educational questions and issues. Specifically, he is interested in the history and philosophy of higher education in physics in the 19th century, engineering education in both the 19th century and in the early years of the Cold War, the use technologies for educational purposes, the professional education of teachers, and additional language education and policy development.
Dr. Bullock’s more general work in education is grounded within a research methodology known as self-study of teaching and teacher education practices, a research tradition he strongly believes is well-suited to the initial education and on-going professional development of teachers and teacher educators.

Dr. Bullock is currently available to supervise students at the Masters and Doctoral levels.
Professional Physicist Certification:
Dr. Bullock is a certified professional physicist (P.Phys.) with the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP).
Professional Teaching Certifications:
Dr. Bullock is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), with qualifications to teach physics, chemistry and mathematics at the secondary level in addition to general primary-level certification in the province of Ontario, Canada. Dr. Bullock is also certified to teach in the province of British Columbia, Canada.
Personal Interests
Dr. Bullock has been a lifelong practitioner of a variety of martial arts and has taught martial arts, for a number of schools in a number of capacities for the last two decades.
